Eco Committee Receives a £500 Grant from
Magherafelt District Council
Our ECO Committee activities received a huge boost recently when representatives from the school were invited to the Council Headquarters Magherafelt to meet Council Chair, Mrs. Kate McEldowney and Mr. John Murtagh a senior council officer.
The purpose of the visit was to present our representatives, Abbie and Hannah, with a £500 grant to be used for ECO Club activities.
We enjoyed tea and biscuits, a tour of the Council Chamber and chatted for nearly an hour.
Mrs. McEldowney was so impressed by our two young ECO pupils that she made a very special award of £100, to be used to help develop the garden described to her in detail by the girls.
This overwhelming generosity will spur our ECO Committee on to complete the works the children have planned, particularly to enhance our front playground experiences.
